Iris Quadrio joined Marval, O’Farrell & Mairal in 1988 and is now a partner, specializing in the area of industrial property and advising national and foreign companies principally on trademark matters.She graduated in 1987 from the Universidad Católica Argentina, where she also graduated as a Public Translator of English in 1981. She has also attended postgraduate courses on industrial and intellectual property at Harvard University and at the Universidad de Salamanca. She has lectured in seminars and conferences at other universities and specialist forums both in Argentina and abroad.She was an assistant professor in industrial property law at the Law Faculty of the Universidad Católica Argentina from 1989 to 2002. She has also published articles in legal magazines and journals specialized in industrial property in Argentina and in other countries.Previously, she worked for the Estudio de los Dres. Goytía between 1982 and 1987 and for BankBoston during 1981 and 1982.At present she is a member of the Board of Directors of the International Trademark Association (INTA) for the term 2006-2008, having received the 2004 Volunteer Service Award for the Advancement of Committee Objectives of such Association. She is currently Chair of INTA’s Dilution & Well-Known Marks Subcommittee – Latin America & Caribbean- for the term 2006-2007. Also member of Colegio Público de Abogados, Colegio de Traductores Públicos de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires, Asociación Argentina de Agentes de Propiedad Industrial, Interamerican Association of Industrial Property (ASIPI), Association Internationale pour la Protéction de la Propriété Intellectuelle (AIPPI) and of the Pharmaceutical Trademarks Group (PTMG).
