Patricia López Aufranc is a partner of Marval, O’Farrell & Marval since 1987, specializing in corporate, banking and capital markets law.Her practice has focused on transnational financial and commercial transactions including debt and equity issues, syndicated loans, derivatives, investment funds, asset securitizations and debt reschedulings. She also advises clients on trans-border mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and a wide range of business contracts.Before joining the firm she worked for The First National Bank of Boston, in Boston, advising on banking law and foreign debt from 1985 until 1986. She also worked for the firm of Klein & Mairal from 1979 until 1984 and in the Office Juridique Français et International in Paris in 1978 and 1979.She graduated from the Law School of the University of Buenos Aires in 1975 and obtained a Diplôme Supérieur in Corporate Law from the School of Law, University of Paris II (Panthéon) in 1977 and a Master in Laws from Harvard University in 1985.She has been a professor in International Business Transactions for the Southwestern University School of Law Summer Law Program in Argentina from 1994 to 1999 and in Capital Markets at Di Tella University in Buenos Aires between 2001 and 2005. She lectures at several local universities.She has published articles and works in Argentina and abroad and regularly makes presentations in local and international forums on banking, finance, business law and corporate law.Presently she is vice-president of the Business Law Commission of the Buenos Aires Bar Association; a member of the International Bar Association; member of the Executive Committee and of the Corporations, Foreign Investments, M&As, Banking and Financial Services Commissions of the International Association of Lawyers (UIA) and founding member and chair of the Argentine Forum of Executive Women (FAME).Ms. Lopez Aufranc sits in the board of Universidad San Andrés, Harvard Club of Argentina and the Museum of Modern Art.She has been identified as leading lawyer in banking and capital markets by Euromoney Publications, Chambers, Global Counsel 3000 and Latin Lawyer.
