Javier Etcheverry Boneo is a partner at Marval, O'Farrell & Mairal since 1996, having joined the firm in 1991. Previously he had worked with the law firm of Clifford Chance.Specialized in business law, his practice includes corporate finance, international capital markets, and private equity acquisitions and investments, particularly in the broadcasting and mining industries. During 1995 he worked as advisor for the Argentine Government and the Argentine Central Bank in the regulatory and contractual issues relating to the restructuring of the financial system in Argentina. Later on, he took an active part in the process of consolidation of the cable television industry, working in regulatory aspects as well as in the acquisition, merger, financing and securities offerings of several CATV companies. He has been legal advisor in the debt restructuring process of Argentine companies for an aggregate amount of 1 billion dollars.Javier Etcheverry Boneo obtained his law degree from the Universidad de Buenos Aires, and in 1990 he obtained a Master in International Commercial Law (LL.M.) from the University of Kent, England. In 1988 he was awarded a scholarship from the Fundación Universitaria del Río de la Plata to participate in seminars in Georgetown University, Washington D.C., and in the Colorado School of Mines.He has given presentations in a number of forums such as the Russell 20-20 Association, the International Section of the American Bar Association (“ABA”) and Latinfinance. He is Vice-Chair of the United Nations and International Institutions Committee of the ABA; and was invited in 1994 by the Law School of Buenos Aires to participate as Professor in the Capital Markets area, and in 2001 and 2002 was Capital Markets Professor of the LL.M of the Universidad Torcuato Di Tella.
